Egerszalók: Roman Catholic Church

Since the 18th century, Egerszalók has been the place of healing.

The pilgrimages started after the miraculous healing of a blind girl. There was a church in the village in the Middle Ages, the baroque church, which can be seen today, and was built in 1738 according to the plans of the Italian architect, Giovanni Battista Carlone. The greatest wealth of the church is the devotional picture of the Virgin Mary and a wooden rococo statue of the Virgin Mary from the 18th century. The building of the parish was built in baroque style between 1831 and 1834. The church of Egerszalók is the part of The Way of Mary, which is an important pilgrimage route in Central Europe.
