Egerszólát: Roman Catholic Church

The ruins of the medieval church of Egerszólát, situated in Alsószólát were still mentioned in 1829.

The present Roman Catholic church of the village (its patron saint is Saint John of Nepomuk) was built by widow Istvánné Farkas in 1734. It was several times renovated in the 18th and 19th centuries. Its first bell was made in 1807 by a master from Eger, Johann Justel. A local laird, Károly Vecsey, his wife, Teresia badics and their daughter were buried in the crypt under the church.
